Following narratvie taken from a heritage auctions description after the spanish-american war and colonel theodore roosevelt's charge up san juan hill in 1898, there were annual rough rider reunions in the western states, some attended by roosevelt through his vice-presidency and presidency. Each reunion resulted in a different pictorial badge limited to attendees, always inscribed rough riders and always depicting roosevelt. Some are rarer than others, and the 1905 san antonio, texas badge may be among the rarest. Further note the original rough rider trainign ground was san antonio. Seldom seen & rarely offered.
